Two Mimics - Pony by hollowzero Two Mimics - Pony by hollowzero
Drawn for two extremely nice individuals who...

..well, it's a long story. But they did get spat on, essientially, by someone who they thought of as a friend. Someone brought up that they both deserved a Mimic. I of course don't have the money for her, let alone two of her  so I thought I'd do what I..do, and draw them instead. It took me awhile to get inspired though, unfortunately.

I tried to go away from the Hasbro style abit..gave them slender faces and smaller eyes with more lashes. Oddly enough I think I ended up drawing the legs more Hasbro style than I ever have. :o Anyways, I always wanted to draw Mimic but waited for the right time..I think this certainly was the right time. :)

Materials: sketchbook, faber castell pens, pigma micron 005, Photoshop 6, optical mouse

EDIT: Changed the text, tried to move the one on the left over abit. Should I move her more? o.o

Looks great! I love the colors... The manes and tails don't have the same types of lines/shading in them, but other than that it's well-done. : )

It's very pretty, but the neck of the pony on the left doesn't look quite right. I think maybe it's too far away from the other.

Yeahm I drew the right ones head too close to the lefts at first..edited the head in Photoshop, but liked the left one's hoof showing, so..just left the body be.

Actually, I'll go edit that in Photoshop now..I got over my laziness.

Any pony collector dreams of the day they just FIND a perfect condition Mimic for 2 dollars at a garage sale. Or for 5 on a not so easily found ebay auction. You did the pony proud. In my honest opinion, she looks better than the actual pony does!! XD;

Hahahhaa, yes.. That pony is so expensive it's ridiculous. :o

Thank you though! That's very much a compliment. =) I think these Mimics might be a slight bit..darker than the real one. I'm not positive. o.o

Beautiful! I really like the style you used for the ponies! :D A great combination- they still look MLP, but they have a unique form as well. I love it! :aww:

Ah, thank you.. =) I do want to keep the Hasbro style going. There's a fine line between horse and My Little Pony..I certainly don't want them going into the horse range, personally. I'll practice with this whole deal, see what I come up with. =)

Thanks again. =)

I honestly think the left one's neck is too long. But WOW! What did you use to do this picture? Is it digital? I think it looks amazing. Really! I have to say that this is one of my favorite pieces by you. I think it's just...wow. I love how you draw the legs from the back, but what always has me wearing a smile is your ponies' faces. I don't know how you draw them so well, but I'll be darned! I smile every time I see pony art by you!

Great job, and consider this a favorite'd piece!

Haha yeah, I drew the heads too close together on paper.. I really need to wait before inking sometimes. :o Yeah, it's digital..drew the lineart with pencil and inked it later, but all the rest is digital. o.o Why thank you... I did try to get away from the Hasbro style abit with this one. I like that style of course but I just wanted them to look abit more..horsey?

I'm very glad they make you smile, though. That's always the goal of my pony art. =)

Oh! Now that would be a lovely sight xD The only thing I can see wrong is something looks quite odd about that left ones neck. O.o I'm not quite sure what though. But I love the style you used!

It's most likely that the neck is too long. :) I drew the heads too close at first, so I had to do some editing in Photoshop.. I liked the body placement too much to change it though, haha. Thanks, I'm glad you like the style. =)

That looks great. I love the way you drew their faces. It makes them look much more feminine. :)

Yeah, I think I'm going to stay with this style for the females..the males can have the squarish faces still though. :) Thank you!
