Be honest with me.

Sat Mar 24, 2007, 6:44 PM
Protip: 25,000 pageviews gets a picture, woot. :o

But I wanted to say this here..if anyone's got the time.

Is there anything that I frequently goof on, over and over again, that you could point out to me and help me fix?

..I'm talking about art-wise of course. Ahahahaha.

But yeah, I remember people used to point out that I drew X's jewel too small..and the more they kept telling me, the better I remembered to make it LARGER, and eventually I guess I got it to the right size since no one says anything anymore.

So..ponies messed up somehow?
Zero the wrong color?
Too many peanuts?
Anatomy issues?
Bland..something?

Be as harsh as you'd like, rolls right off me like water on a ducks back as they say.

Ahhhh...nice relaxing weekend..

I honestly can't find anything wrong with your art work. I think your pieces are something to be admired.

It's hard for me to pinpoint something like, "Hollow always screws up on *insert thing here*" so I guess I can't think of anything constant, lol. You know me- I tend to just say what I think on each piece. So if there's something that I comment on over and over... then I guess that would qualify? LOL, I dunno, I think your stuff rocks out loud. Sorry I get so backed up on commenting sometimes. Eh, I'm a lazy bum, what can I say? X3

Hard to point out something bad.

Now, if we start talking about MY art, well, then it's a total different thing ¬.¬

Psychedelic goodness for your soul!
Your animals tend to look beatiful. Maybe this is because I haven't drawn them enough to know otherwise, but I think it's because YOU'VE drawn them enough to know what you're doing.

The one thing I conistently see is simply structural anatomy issues with humans. They often look tense and/or stiff.

If I could point out WHY, I really would... But I have the same sort of issues myself.

I recommend getting at least one art anatomy book (Stephen Peck's is GREAT), and just seeing what all is under the skin.

Also, draw from life. Draw you family if that's all you have. But what you want to look at is the underlying forms and how they relate. (Spine, ribcage, pelvis, etc.)

Other than that, I say keep practicing. You've become loads better than you were a few years ago.
Thanks Ed, and yeah..that's a huge problem I have, stiff figures and lack of good perspective. But I think I just need tons of practice on humans..because as you said, I've been drawing animals all my life so..they come natural. Humans are..difficult, yeah.

But thanks much Ed, you always have critique I can actually..follow. Lol, you're no Zaphod.
